After one of the most successful years in its history, Kilkenny Musical Society returns to the stage this November with their Showstoppers variety concert.
This group of talented local performers will take audiences through a journey of some of the most exciting new musicals currently selling out West End Theatres. The Commitments, Once, Hairspray, and The Book of Mormon are but some of the highlights of what promises to be a fantastic night's entertainment.
Local youth stage academy, Jesters, will also feature with music from the Broadway smash, Matilda.
Having been awarded best overall show at the national awards in Killarney in June, the society will also perform some of the haunting pieces from their award-winning production of Michael Collins - A Musical Drama, the show which mesmerised Kilkenny audiences and sold out weeks before opening night in April of this year. Those who missed out on a staggering production have a second chance to enjoy some of the memorable numbers from an unforgettable show.
Sweeney Todd is the society's choice for 2015. Those interested in joining the society for what promises to be another memorable production are encourage to keep and eye on Facebook and the society's website for news of auditions.
