KMS "Reveal" Full Monty Cast

The Full Monty Flyer

Kilkenny Musical Society are delighted to announce that their 2016 production ‘The Full Monty’ has been cast and musical theatre fans are in for a treat of local performers as well as stellar newcomers. Director Christine Scarry, who took the helm for the award winning 2014 production of ‘Michael Collins: A Musical Drama’ and once again last year for the epic ‘Sweeney Todd’, has put together a fantastic group of singers, actors and dancers to bring this show filled with razor sharp humour and toe-tapping pizzazz to the Watergate stage.

Starring in the lead male role this year is Kilkenny performer Aidan Byrne. Currently studying for a Bachelor of Music degree at UCD, Aidan has been most recently seen as ‘Chris’ in Watergate production’s ‘Miss Saigon’. This talented Kilkenny native has also been wowing Dublin audiences as a leading man in shows such as Jekyll and Hyde as a member of UCD’s musical society.

The male contingent also features well-known actor Fergal Miller, who portrayed the iconic ‘Elephant Man’ as part of KATS theatre’s production in September of this year. Alongside Fergal, another KATS performer, Benjamin Warner makes his musical society debut as the heart-warming but life-lost Dave. Other noticeable male roles have been filled by Eoghan Fingleton – best known for his powerful portrayal of Harry Boland with the society in 2014, as well as Declan Taylor, and Ciaran Dunphy, two established actors and directors on the Kilkenny musical and amateur dramatic scenes.

However behind every good man is a strong women and the hilariously brazen female characters feature strongly in this heart-warming, upbeat comedy. Nicola Brennan, a long-time member of the society will play the role of Georgie, the bubbly and exuberant wife who faces the struggle of insecurity and holding her marriage together. Other female performers taking to the stage include Rebecca Murphy, Elaine O’ Hara and Sarah Brennan, last seen delivering a powerhouse performance as Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd.

With such a fantastic cast, this promises to be a sell out show. Tickets go on sale from January 1st at the Watergate box office. Keep an eye on the society’s facebook page for all Full Monty updates.
