KMS on Tour

Not content with rehearsing five nights a week, the musical mad gang from KMS have been travelling the south east region & beyond to experience some of the fantastic shows being staged by other musical societies.

Oyster Lane wowed the Kilkenny gang with a fantastic production of The Wizard of Oz. Next up was a visit to St Michaels Musical Society’s production of Chess which starred some of our own members Kevin Reade & Declan Taylor. Needless to say ‘I know him so well’ was top of our sing-song list on the bus ride home!

All things Buenos Aires were on the menu after that as the gang travelled to see neighbouring society Carraick on Suir perform the Andrew Lloyd webber hit ‘Evita’. A great nights entertainment was had by all members.

Last years performers of ‘Michael Collins’ Teachers Musical Society were staging the moving musical ‘Ragtime’ at the Tivoli theatre Dublin and over 10 of our society members travelled to see this spectacular show. We even got a hug from Gaybo that night, sure what more could we ask for!

Former leading lady of KMS Roisin Egenton was tripping the light fantastic as the hilarious Ulla for Patrician’s production of ‘The Producers’ and received some KMS support for her troubles. A trip to Whistle down the Wind performed by New Ross MS and Calamity Jane staged by Naas MS were our most recent nights out and were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

At KMS we firmly believe in the importance of inter-society support. As well as a fantastic nights entertainment & social gathering for our members it underlines the spirit of AIMS – supporting one another united in our passion for musical theatre.
